Hello from Fonality!

In order to help you better prepare for FtOCC, please read/watch all of the following material. Every item in this list is a pre-requisite for attending Fonality's FtOCC class. Failure to properly review and study the items in this list may prove to be a hinderance to you when you come to FtOCC. The concepts and terminology (particularly basic linux commands) will be used on the understanding that all FtOCC participants have reviewed this information prior to class. No time will be dedicated to actually teaching these fundamentals.

This is a technical course covering the inner-workings of the system. This is not an administrative course covering GUI configuration.

Many of our past students have suggested the addition of reading materials about Linux and Asterisk in advance of the class in order to set the proper expectation for class. Please brush up on any areas that you consider yourself technically weak in to make FtOCC that much easier!

We will use everything you learn from the links above during FtOCC. Please pay special attention to the basic Linux commands link and the video tutorials.

We will not install a trixbox Pro system during class. Previous students have requested we add a full installation to our class. We have consciously chosen not to include this because installing trixbox Pro is so easy anyone can do it.

This document should provide helpful commands that save you from lenghty memorization.

Pre-Class Skills Assessment

To access our online quiz, please perform the following:

Navigate to http://cbt.fonality.com
Create a new account using the same email address you used to register for FtOCC
Select the course "FtOCC Tech Training Prep Course"
The enrollment key is 'ftocc' (case sensitive)
Once enrolled, please select the "FtOCC Skills Assessment Quiz" from the "Weekly Outline" menu
You may only attempt the quiz once.

As instructors, we would like you to have an idea of which topics you should continue to review prior to the class in order to best prepare for the content we will present next week.

You must complete the pre-class skills assessment prior to joining FtOCC. Your grade has no bearing on FtOCC Certification. We want you to get as much out of our class as possible, and this quiz will help lay the foundation of our subject matter.
